Android 4.4.3 KitKat update coming soon, landing first on Nexus 7, 4 and 5

Google’s highly anticipated Android 4.4.3 KitKat update will roll out soon. This comes as good news to Nexus users who were complaining about the KitKat 4.4.2 problems. These bugs are plaguing not only the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 users but it’s also affecting Google Play Edition users.

The new Android 4.4.3 KitKat is expected to get rid of all these bugs on all Nexus devices. According to an unofficial change log the new update will fix unstable data connections, missed call LED problems, VPN, random reboot issues, improve camera focus, and much more.

The new 4.4.3 KitKat update will roll out gradually. Nexus devices will be the first in line to receive the update, namely the Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013), Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.  Nexus 10 might be skipped. Google Play Edition devices will be second in line. Moto X by Motorola will also get and update soon. According to Android Police, the Android 4.4.3 or build KTU84F will roll out on April 21st and will slowly be available to all Android devices.

Sprint announced over the weekend that its Nexus 5 users will get a new Android update labeling it build KTU84F not Android 4.4.3 but it’s believed by many to be the new KitKat update. A few days ago Sprint alternately confirmed it to be the new Android 4.4.3 indeed and that its updates are “rolled out in increments and can take some time to be recived.” The claim was backed up by well known leaker LlabTooFeR suggesting that the update is imminent for Nexus and maybe Google Play Edition users as well.

While the Android 4.4.3 KitKat is not expected to bring new features to the table, the rumored Android 4.5 might be the one to do so. This new update is expected to land in July, alongside the brand new Nexus 8. The Nexus 8 is expected to come as a replacement to the Nexus 7 and feature high-end hardware and possibly new software as well.
