LG Isai FL launched in Japan, LG G3 QHD display confirmed

The LG Isai FL is a recently launched smartphone developed in collaboration with Japanese mobile operator KDDI and is only available in Japan. The device is special because it basically gives as a first look at the LG G3 flagship smartphone that will be released later this month.

Isai FL features a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440, 538 pixel density panel and is the first smartphone with a 2k QHD display that was released by LG. The company revealed yesterday that the same type of display will also be featured on the LG G3. This new panel has been certified by NEMKO, a Norwegian testing and certification organization based in Norway, and is ready for mass production. The display is slimmer than previous ones, with a thickness of only 1.2mm and 1.15 bezel

The new smartphone is similar to the upcoming G3 but not only because of its display, the LG Isai FL shares some of its specs as well. Isai comes equipped with a 13 megapixel rear-camera, 3,000 mAh battery and 2 GB of RAM. The device also features a powerful Snapdragon quad-core processor running at 2.5 GHz and is available in three colors.

By comparison, the LG G3 features the same 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 QHD display but with a slightly lower pixel density of only 534 ppi. The flagship’s camera will also feature 13MP and comes with Optical Image Stabilization as well. LG G3 is rumored to come in two variants, one with 16 GB storage memory and 2GB RAM, while the other will feature 32GB storage and 3GB of RAM. Other specs include: microSD card slot for additional storage, 3000 mAh battery just like LG Isai FL, and a quad-core Snapdragon 801 @ 2.5 GHz processor.

The LG G3 will be released on the 27th of May and will come to challenge all the big boys that are currently dominating the smartphone market. HTC One M8, Google Nexus 5, iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S5 will be some of its competitors. Rumor has it that Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, a premium version of the S5 will also be released around the same time as the LG G3.
