The Witcher 3 will have the same content for all platforms

CD Projekt Red doesn’t like to discriminate any gamers and have told Eurogamer that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not have platform exclusive content. Marcin Iwinski, the company’s co-founder also mentioned that the game will “hopefully” make an appearance at E3 2014.

“We are treating all gamers equally,” Iwinski answered when asked about possible platform exclusivity deals. Furthermore, he says that CD Projekt will not delay The Witcher 3 any more and that making exclusive content is not something they are interested in. “We’ll not deliver exclusive content to any of the platforms, nor will we artificially delay release of the game on any of the platforms because somebody’s paying us money for that. It’s definitely against our values. We are not doing that.”

However, the company does have some sort of plan in terms of marketing cooperation and we’ll be hearing all about it at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. “What we are doing in terms of marketing cooperation,” Iwinski said, “you’ll see that at E3.” We’re not sure what this means so I guess we’ll just have to wait until the event to find out more.

Last but not least, the question of online connectivity was also raised during the interview. While we already knew that there will be no multiplayer mode, Iwanski did hint that The Witcher 3 will come with some sort of social sharing feature. “We will be talking about it when the time comes,” he said. “It’s too early right now.”

Luckily, E3 is just around the corner so we wont have to wait long to find out all the details. The Witcher 3 was present at last year’s event and it will most likely make an appearance this year as well, but we don’t know on whose stage yet. Earlier this month, Iwiniski said that there will be differences between the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. However, players should’t care too much about them as they will be “more of a PR differentiation”.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is expected to be released in February 2015 and will be available for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC. The game was already pushed back once from its initial late 2014 release date but the developers promised there will be no more delays. E3 2014 will take place in Los Angeles during June 10-12 and will be the place where all the biggest industry announcements will be made. Stay tuned for more updates and news.
