The Vibe Z2 Pro – Lenovo’s upcoming flagship smartphone
A recent leak suggests that Lenovo is currently preparing to release a new Android handset called the Vibe Z2 Pro. The device is being developed in order to replace the Vibe Z and become the company’s new flagship smartphone. Reports coming in from China reveal that the upcoming phone has been pictured in the wild and quite a lot of details are already available.
The leaked images reveal that the Vibe Z2 Pro will feature a metallic chassis, as opposed to their current flagship which is made out of plastic. This design choice is reminiscent of the K900, which was released last year. However, unlike the K900, the Vibe Z2 Pro will come with a 2560 x 1440 QHD display, which measures a whooping 6-inches. The device will also reportedly sport a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.5 GHz. Some of the other specs include a 16 MP primary camera with optical image stabilization and a massive 4.000 mAh battery. All of this is packed into a 7.7 mm-thick body that can also support NFC, LTE, and dual-SIM.
With these kinds of specs, Levono’s upcoming smartphone can certainly compete with pretty much all the other top-tier devices currently available on the market. This includes handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S5, the HTC One M8, Sony’s Xperia Z2 and even LG’s brand new flagship, the G3. The Vibe Z2 Pro might also want to take on some of the other soon to be released devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, HTC One M8 Prime, and the iPhone 6.
Unfortunately, as opposed to the smartphones we’ve just enumerated, Lenovo’s devices are not quite as popular, but they might soon be if this leak has any truth to it. Obviously all this information should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. However, reports say that the leak comes from a reliable source and that the images were taken at an internal Lenovo event so we must take this into consideration. By the looks of it, the device is more or less ready to be announced soon and we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for any further developments.
No mention has been made about a possible release date, but we should expect that the Vibe Z2 Pro will probably be released on the Asian markets first. Europe and U.S. releases might follow after, however it’s still to early to say for sure. At any rate, make sure you stay tuned and we’ll make sure so keep you up to date.
