HTC rumored to work on One M8 Plus and Advance

HTC One M8 is already one of the best smartphones on the market, but the company is already thinking about launching a device that features a 2K display. As many other companies launched or are preparing to launch smartphones with 2K resolution displays, HTC follows through and prepares the “Plus” version of the One M8, featuring a QHD screen. Plus, the company is also said to work on a plastic-clad version dubbed “Advance”.  Earliers this month, rumors suggested that HTC was working on a better One M8, with a 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 805 CPU, LTE Cat 6 connectivity and a great waterproof chassis to provide more reliability.

The leaked information fortifies all this rumors, but in addition it states that HTC will give up on the UltraPixel sensor, and go for a 13 MP sensor, also featured by the One Mini 2. Making things more confusing, there is another leak suggesting that the “better” version of the One M8 will come with a Duo Camera setup and a raised camera sensor. Up to this point, with what new features HTC is planning to gear up its higher-end smartphone is uncertain, so let the guessing game begin!

The other rumored version of the HTC One M8, called “Advance”, is said to have the same features as the M8, but it will be made of plastic. Considering the price of a HTC One M8, making a cheaper plastic-clad “Advance” is a pretty good idea, even if the “premium feel” will be out of the question. If some rumors are true, the device will in fact be called HTC One M8 Ace and it will feature a 5-inch display and it will be available in two colors, red and blue. What’s more intriguing, is the fact that the “One M8 Ace” may launch next week in China. If the rumors are true, the Ace could be available worldwide pretty soon.

Whether the device that’s being launched next week is really the “Advance” version of the One M8 is still uncertain, though many rumors seem to corroborate the idea. We still have to question the fact that HTC didn’t announce next week’s “great launch”, if the device is indeed one of their own. We have to admit that a launch such as this would be a great event, considering we’re talking about a version of the  HTC One M8. There is of course another rumor, not that there aren’t too many, that suggests a real launch of both devices sometime this fall, in August or September.
