E3 2014: Halo 5 Guardians Beta Revealed, game launching in 2015

Microsoft announced today during its E3 press conference that the upcoming Xbox One Halo 5: Guardians beta will begin in December. To ensure your place in the beta don’t forget to pick up the upcoming The Master Chief Collection that will be available from November 11 for the Xbox One. Halo 5: Guardians will launch in 2015 for the Xbox One, as mentioned by Microsoft, and it will run in 1080p @60 fps. Its multiplayer will be supported by dedicated servers.

343 Industries is working on a 10th anniversary edition of Halo 2 but it will be bundled alongside the Halo 3, Halo 4 and Combat Evolved as The Master Chief Collection. All games will get remastered to run on 1080p at 60 fps and will ¬†come on one Xbox One disc. Because of it’s 10th anniversary, Halo 2 will also receive a visual update, similar to what Halo: Combat Evolved received three years ago. You will also be able to switch between the original and new visuals as you see fit.

All four games will be accessible though a single shared menu from where you will get access to all campaign missions and multiplayer games. You will also be able to mix and match missions as you see fit. You can for example complete all the Warthog missions without returning to the main menu. You can also create your own cross-game missions list and play trough it. The older engines will get loaded simultaneously in the background so you wont notice any break in the gameplay.

All four games will have multiplayer, with dedicated servers supporting them, so it won’t rely on the Xbox 360’s peer-to-peer network. With the addition of great, 60fps multiplayer and all the Halo games combined in one bundle, this $60 package will turn out to be extraordinary for fans. The bundle will also feature cinematics from the upcoming Holo 5: Guardians as well as full access to Ridley Scott’s Halo: Nightfall series. Remember also, that buy purchasing The Master Chief Collection, you will get access to the Halo 5: Guardians beta in December.
