Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will get QHD display, but won’t be bigger

They hype surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S5 is slowly fading away, and the Android fan-base is slowly shifting its gaze towards the next major Samsung release, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The phone is said to be released this fall, and will most likely be revealed at IFA 2014 in Berlin this September. Its launch will cause the Note 4 to directly compete with Apple’s upcoming flagship, the iPhone 6. So far, official details about the upcoming phablet were scarce, but most signs indicated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will feature a 5.9 inch, QHD display.

It seems that this will not be the case, at least not entirely. The Samsung web profile (designed specifically for Samsung mobile users) has been updated with a new device, the SM-N910A, a device which fits the model number for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The device shown comes with a 5.7 inch display, confirming some beliefs that this year, Samsung will not be upping the display size of its new Note. However, this posting also confirms that the device will indeed feature a QHD display similar to what we’ve seen in the LG G3. So, while size will likely stay unchanged, the Note 4’s display will in fact be a QHD one, running at a resolution of 2560x1440p. Rumors suggest that Samsung will in fact provide two variants of the Note 4, so seeing a larger screen isn’t completely out of the question just yet.

Last week, Sammobile reported that the Note 4 will come in two variants, with two separate CPUs for each variant. Other sources have also claimed that two Samsung Galaxy Note 4 variants are in the making, one of which might feature a curved display. In any case, the recently showcased SM-N910A does not fit the bill and sports a regular flat display. While most countries will be getting a Note 4 with the newer Snapdragon 805 chipset within, some areas of the globe will get a Note 4 running on an Exynos 5433 SoC. Other than that, the device is said to come with 3 GB of RAM and a 16 MP rear camera that sports OIS.

Is the possibility that the Note 4 will stay at the current Note 3’s size, sporting a 5.7 inch screen a turn-off, or are you happy with just having a QHD display? Let us know in the comment section below!
