Humble Store Purchases Amount To $1 Million For Charity

The Humble Store has seen a lot of success since it opened in November of last year. Since then, the store has featured a number of deals that see hundreds of games discounted to ridiculously low prices. Some deals that come to rival even Steam’s own sales. Today, the store hit a new milestone thanks to customer dedication and all the purchases that have been made, with Humble Bundle announcing that $1 million has been donated to various charities, including Child’s Play and the American Red Cross.

As part of our commitment to charity, 10% of every sale is allocated toward several great causes,” explained Humble Bundle on its Humble Mumble Tumblr blog today. “Through our Debut Sale, Winter and Spring Sales and more than 500 titles later, the $1 million milestone has been reached and we have you to thank.” In addition to Child’s Play and the Red Cross, the $1 million has been used to help the Electronic Frontier Foundation fight for digital rights; World Land Trust and its cause to protect threatened habitats; and charity: water, which aims to get fresh, clean water to developing nations.

Humble Bundle and the Humble Store have no plans to stop now, however, and reassures that both will keep going. “10% of every Humble Store sale still goes to charity,” continued the announcement post. “Every sale, every game, every time. Here is to the next million!” Those that head to the Humble Store right now will see several games heavily discounted, including Gone Home (from $19.99 to $4.99), FTL: Advanced Edition ($9.99 to $3.99) and Urban Trial Freestyle (down from $9.99 to $0.99).

Meanwhile, the Humble Weekly Bundle is going with a strategy theme this time, featuring such titles like Space Hulk, Ironclad Tactics and Eador: Masters of the Broken World. As always, you can pay what you want and the games activate on Steam.
