World’s lightest smartphone, the Xolo Win Q900S, released in India

Indian smartphone company Xolo announced the release date for its first Windows 8.1 handset, which also happens to be the world’s lightest smartphone, weighting mearly 100g. The phone will be released on the 2nd of July but pre-orders were available on Snapdeal for Rs 9999. However, Snapdeal sold out its units and when the product will be made available again the price will go up to Rs 11999. The phone comes as a result from the colaboration of Xolo company with Microsoft, earlier this year.

Despite its small wight, the smartphone has a large HD display of 4.7 inch with a 1280×720 screen resolution and Scrach Resistant Dragon Trail Glass protection. The rest of the features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (the same as Imperia I smartphone), an 8 MP PureCel Sensor rear camera with LED flash, a 2 MP front-facing one, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB. The Xolo WIN Q900s supports two SIM cards, Wi-Fi for connectivity, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth and GPS. Moreover, the 1800 mAh battery unit is acceptable, offering a talk time up to 14 hours using 3G mode and 23 hours using 2G mode. In standby mode, the handset runs up to 246 hours using 3G and 263 hours using 2G. The Windows 8.1 operating system offers many advantages from power saving options to the possibility of dealing with multiple tasks simultaneously. Also, it allowes users to view, edit and create documents, reports or spreadsheets and comes along with apps like Skype or One Drive. The deivce is really easy to use and responds relatively quick to commands.

Given the fact that after a couple of hours since the phone had became available for pre-orders it already sold out, means that the customers are really satisfied with the specifications and the price offered by the Xolo company. The major disadvantage of this phone is the fact that it is only available in India.
