Who knew that Electronic Arts would be so generous with their offerings of free games? Earlier this week we reported that Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger is now completely free on Origin but it looks like that was only the beginning. The company is offering two more titles for us to enjoy free of charge, albeit only for a limited time. First off, you’ll be able to play the popular shooter Battlefield 4 for 168 hours, which is one full week via the Game Time program. You can enjoy all the action-packed gameplay in both single player and multiplayer from the moment you start the timer. Keep in mind that it’s going to run in real time so your Game Time will be up exactly 168 hours after you hit that button.
Origin Achievements will carry over if you then decide to purchase the game, and you may be tempted to do just that considering that it’s available at a considerable discount of 50%. Battlefield 4 can currently be purchased for only 20 bucks on Origin for the Standard Edition and $25 for the Digital Deluxe. EA is also offering you the opportunity of trying out Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for a limited time. The game is available to play free of charge for only 48-hours but that should give you enough time to see what its all about. However, you will definitely have to buy it if you want to get the full experience as this open-world RPG is absolutely massive and can take literally hundreds of hours to complete. Luckily, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning can also be purchased at a discount from Origin and will cost you 5 bucks.
“The minds of New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlance, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston have combined to create Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a new role-playing game set in a world worth saving. Build the character you’ve always wanted and continuously evolve it to your style of play with the revolutionary Destiny system. Choose your path and battle through a master-crafted universe featuring some of the most intense, responsive, and customizable RPG combat ever.”
You can grab both Battlefield 4 and Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reconing right now from this page. Also, don’t forget to download your free copy of the old school space simulator Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger. EA is only asking that you create an Origin account in order to play these games but the process doesn’t take long.
