Meizu MX4 launched with killer specs to boast with

The Meizu MX4 has already stirred waters up greatly with its record-breaking Antutu benchmark score, but further leaks show that the flagship is indeed a monster reality. The Meizu MX4 is already up for pre-order in China, but no news about a global release yet.

Meizu is the main competitor of Xiaomi in China at the moment, so the company is striving (and succeeding) to innovate in the field of smartphones. The Meizu Mx4 will sport a 5.36-inch Full HD+ display in 1920 x 1152 resolution (418 ppi) – boosted with 1100:1 contrast ratio and 500 cd/m² brightness, MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor, with four 2.2GHz Cortex-A17 and four 1.7GHz Cortex-A7 cores, backed by 2 GB RAM.

The Meizu MX4 will sport great connectivity features as well, with 3G and 4G LTE support for most Chinese bands, along with dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou satellite navigation system. The Meizu MX4 will rock Sony’s 20.7 megapixel Exmor RS camera. probably the same camera as the upcoming Xperia Z3 will have. The flagship will run Flyme OS 4.0 on top of Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and will be available in three storage configurations: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The battery on the MX4 is a not-so-modest 3100 mAH removable battery which will surely offer good performance.

The flagship is available in three colors, white black and gold and is already available for pre-order to all Chinese customers. The MX4 will probably start shipping by September 20, so we’ll soon see a lot of hands-on reviews of the MX4 pop up all over the internet – and we can’t wait. The 16 GB version will cost $293, the 32 GB one $325 and the 64 GB one will cost $390, making for excellent prices for a high-end device.

What we’re wondering about is whether the Meizu MX4 will prove to be as powerful as it did in the Antutu benchmark were it scored a record 52.811 score. Since the CPU has been changed, and the record score was obtained by the MX4 with Samsung’s Exynos CPU, we wonder if the MX4 will be as impressive as the benchmark had it pegged to be.

About Egon Kilin

My life-long dream has been to test out every gadget on the market! Considering the fact that I've rapidly destroyed almost every gadget I've had so far, I'm not inclined to owning something, so my ideal outcome would be to have a different gadget each month. I'm really into smartphones, wearables and tablets and I love Playstation and Xbox, I'm sure I'll beat you at your own game (after a month of training... or two)
