Xperia Z4 already in the works

Not even a week has passed since the Sony Xperia Z3 line was launched, yet there are already rumors coming from company executives detailing the upcoming Xperia Z4 handset.

The Sony Xperia Z3 was one of the stars of the show at IFA Berlin this week, many saying that the flagship was among the best.  The Xperia Z3 came 6 months after the release of its predecessor, the Xperia Z2. Keeping this in mind, you won’t be so surprised to hear that the Xperia Z4 will be touching down… 6 months from now!

Sony executives declared that the Xperia Z4 will keep the triluminous Full HD screen resolution of the Z3, saying that Quad HD displays drain the battery and use much more processing power for a not so spectacular end result. The fact that the Xperia Z4 is already in the works should be enough news for the day after the Xperia Z3 was announced, but apparently, there is more.

Talks have emerged specifically regarding the Xperia Z4’s screen, disregarding the company’s standpoint on a 1080 Full HD screen, enforcing the fact that the Xperia Z4 might just go against Sony’s wishes and get a Quad HD for itself. Take this with a grain of salt, obviously, but it does make sense since the company exec disregarded the Quad HD display at a moment when there was criticism arising against the Xperia Z3’s 1080p Full HD screen.

The Xperia Z4 will probably be endowed with the latest generation Snapdragon 805 or even the 810, if the manufacturer can keep up the production rates required by a new Xperia Z4 release. The Exmor camera that will probably be fitted in the Xperia Z4 will have optical image stabillization, but an increased number of MPs is not very likely. Android L will probably be the OS running the Xperia Z4 and rumors have it that the new flagship will be absolutely packed with new features and top-notch specs.

Albeit people are already getting excited about Xperia Z4, we shouldn’t forget that the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact are excellent devices which have already been released and will shortly be available for purchase. The Z3 sports excellent specs and features, so we shouldn’t already be demanding an upgrade from Sony, no matter how curious we are. Although… what’s that about a new Exmor camera, Sony?

What do you think the Xperia Z4 will look like? How will it compare to the Xperia Z3 line? Does it need the QHD screen or is Full HD enough?
