Playstation unveils Glacier White headphones

Playstation unveiled the new Glacier White headphones, compatible with the upcoming “Destiny” audio mode. The new feature will be launched together with the game, in the “Destiny Glacier White” bundle, which also contains a white version of the Playstation 4 console with its accessories. Additionally, it includes a white Dual Shock controller, the game itself and a 30-day Playstation Plus Trial. The whole bundle costs $449.99.

The Glacier White headphones are, according to Sony, available in an “extremely” limited edition. Basically, they’re the white version of the Gold Wireless Stereo Headset. The headphones are only available with the Destiny bundle and are limited to the existing stock. Also, the company announced that, tomorrow, along with Bungie’s game, an exclusive Destiny audio mode will be released. It will be available through the free Headset Companion App for Playstation 3 and 4. Through the new audio mode, players will be able to experience the sounds of the Destiny universe the way Bungie intended. Meanwhile, the Gold Wireless Stereo Headset is available to purchase for $99 from the Playstation store.

Sony also announced that they have released the Silver Wired Stereo Headset for PS4 and PS3. The headphones cost $69.99 and include a variety of features. These features are: the capability to output Immersive 7.1 virtual surround sound, custom audio modes created by developers for PS games, in-line volume and mic controls. Additionally, the headphones will contain a retractable boom mic for voice chat and breathable ear cushions. The Silver headset can also be connected to the Playstation Vita through the 3.5mm jack. This fall, Sony came out with two special headsets, the Silver and the Gold ones, which are told to enable players to hear PS games the way they were meant to sound.
