Meizu MX4 Pro leaked

The Meizu MX4 has left us impressed after its launch about a week ago,  boasting monster specs and high quality build. Even though Meizu just launched the Meizu MX4, the company is already rumored to be working on a follow-up device, the Meizu MX4 Pro.

Meizu MX4 scored a record on Antutu benchmark with both the processor models we’ve heard about, Samsung’s Exynos octa CPU and MediaTek MT6595. The latter was chosen as the official processor after all, and the Meizu MX4 managed to score almost the same on the benchmark, so we’re looking at a score of over 51 thousand. That’s way above most flagships like the Samsung Alpha (50.800), Galaxy S5 (46500), HTC One M8 (45100), OnePlus One (44000) and Xiaomi Mi4 (43000).

The original Meizu MX4 boasts a  5.36 inch IPS LCD, 1152*1920 resolution screen with 418 ppi, 144 x 75.2 x 8.9 mm dimensions, thin bezels, thin metal build, MediaTek MT6595 CPU with Quad-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A17 & quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A7 with a PowerVR H6200MP4 GPU and 2GB RAM, Sony 20.7 MP 5248*3936 rear shooter and 2 MP Full HD front camera and Flyme 4.0 overlaid on Android 4.4 KitKat.

What could possibly be better than that? Well, the Meizu MX4 Pro of course. The new pro edition of the flagship will supposedly have 4 GB of RAM available, which would naturally be paired with a 64 bit processor, otherwise the huge amount of RAM would be of little purpose. The leak shows a A17/A15 big.LITTLE octacore CPU, which is a 32 bit processor, so that comes as the most confusing part of the new leak, rendering it a possible fabrication.

Some say that there’s been a typo in the leak and the Meizu MX4 will sport the Exynos processor I was talking about earlier, which would mean that the first leak about Meizu MX4 scoring record on Antutu with the aforementioned processor – was real. And it was for the Pro version of the Meizu MX4. What we know about the Meizu MX4 Pro besides the processing power, is that it will have a 5.4 inch 2560×1536 display. The rear camera will be the same Sony 20.7 MP shooter, but on the front, the Meizu MX4 Pro will push the limits of selfie-cameras with a whopping 13 MP camera.

The pro version of Meizu’s flagship will be available in 16, 32 and 64 GB configurations, but no word about a microSD slot. The Meizu MX4 Pro will probably be announced in a month or so, but since the MX4 starts shipping on the 20th of September, that release might come even sooner. Since the Meizu MX4 can be bought for $320-$400, the Pro version will probably cost a tad more, I would estimate around $400 -$450, but not much more since Meizu seems to be targeting the people looking for powerful phones at low prices.

About Egon Kilin

My life-long dream has been to test out every gadget on the market! Considering the fact that I've rapidly destroyed almost every gadget I've had so far, I'm not inclined to owning something, so my ideal outcome would be to have a different gadget each month. I'm really into smartphones, wearables and tablets and I love Playstation and Xbox, I'm sure I'll beat you at your own game (after a month of training... or two)
