Microsoft announces Sunset Overdrive Season Pass details

Microsoft announced the details for the Season Pass of “Sunset Overdrive”. The Pass can be purchased on Xbox Live and participating retailers when the game is released. The content that players will get through the Season Pass include the first complete Game Add-Ons for Microsoft’s upcoming shooter. It also includes six character outfits, two Amps and two Traps.

The Season Pass of Sunset Overdrive will also bring two campaign Add-ons that include new locations, stories and boss battles. Each Add-on contains new weapons, Amps, a Trap, new character outfits and new challenges as Chaos Squad objectives. Besides the campaign Add-ons, the Pass grants players the Weapons Pack Add-on, which includes four new weapons.

The Season Pass will be released at the same time with the game, on October 28, 2014. It will cost $19.99, which Microsoft considers is a better value than buying the three Add-ons individually. Sunset Overdrive is an upcoming Xbox One exclusive third person shooter game, developed by Insomniac Games. The game is set in Sunset City, an open world environment. Its story takes place in 2027, as players control a FizzCo (in-game company) employee fighting humans that have turned into monsters after consuming an energy drink. Sunset Overdrive will feature gameplay elements such as wall-running and using zip-lines and grind rails to navigate through the city. During combat, players cannot run or take cover and will have to rely on their character’s agility to survive. You can carry up to eight weapons at the same time. Each weapon can be upgraded using the previously mentioned Amps. Sunset Overdrive is expected to use Microsoft’s cloud computing, where users can share their feedback and ideas. The game also features an online co-op mode, Chaos Squad, where up to eight players can join the battle and defend vats of Overcharge Delirius XT from the people turned into monsters.

About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
