New details on Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s two player heist missions

More details have emerged about Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s two players heist missions. According to Ubisoft, in order to complete these missions, players need to plan things out and work together with their partner.  Unity has a single player campaign that follows Arno’s story, Brotherhood mission, which are co-op quests for up to four people and side missions, including assassination contracts or heists.

According to the developer, heist missions don’t focus so much on the narrative. They can be replayed as many times as the player wants and each time the settings will be different. This means that during different sessions, guards, treasures and other stuff will be randomly placed somewhere else on the map. The best way to succeed in these missions is to co-operate with the other player and don’t rush on your own. Plan things out, sneak on guards, deal with those you can’t sneak past, but do it together. If one of the players die during the session, the game is not over, as the other player can revive his team-mate if he is not in a fight at the time.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity co-op mode allows players to customize their characters and focus on four different skills: Deadly (improves attacking), Resilient (improves defence), Unseen (which makes you more experienced in stealth mode) and Agile (improves your movement skills). Ubisoft’s next addition to the Assassin’s Creed universe will be released on November 11 on the Playstation 4, PC and Xbox One. This is the first next-gen game in the title. It’s set during the French Revolution and is somehow going to be tied to another Assassin’s Creed game, “Rogue”, coming out on the same day, on Xbox 360 and PS3.

It’s hard to say why Ubisoft is releasing two Assassin’s Creed games this year: to milk the franchise even more while they still can, or to offer last-gen console users one last Assassin’s Creed? Or maybe, and this is more likely, both. It remains to be seen if the company had a good idea or not when the games come out.

About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
