Samsung Galaxy Alpha is now available for purchase in certain markets

Starting today, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is available for purchase in the UK and a handful of other countries, but many more are expected to follow in due time. You can buy the smartphone from various retailers over in the UK and some may even offer it for free if you sign a two-year contract with them and pay the monthly fee. However, if you prefer a no strings attached deal, Unlocked Mobiles is offering the Samsung Galaxy Alpha for no less than £499.87. This might seem a bit expensive, but the device features some pretty nice specs and a metallic design to boot so it’s definitely worthwhile. In any case, you can only find black or white versions of the device at the moment if you want to get it unlocked.

On the other hand, certain carriers can offer the Samsung Galaxy Alpha in several other colors including silver, blue(Carphone Warehouse) and even gold(Phones 4u). As for the device itself, it was developed to be an alternative to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha also comes equipped with a 4.7-inch display along with 720 x 1280 resolution and 312 PPI. A quick peak under the hood reveals a powerful octa-core Exynos 5433 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. Other specs include 2 GB of RAM, 12MP primary camera, 1,860 mAh battery and 32GB of internal storage memory with no microSD support. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and is one of the slimmest Samsung smartphones to date.

The device is scheduled to arrive in Canada on September 26th and a few other markets in the following days. There is no news on when the Samsung Galaxy Alpha will reach the US, but it’s expected that it will be available at T-Mobile and AT&T when it does. Stay tuned fore more news and updates.
