OS X Yosemite Public Beta 3 and Developer Preview 8 released
Apple has officially released the OS X Public Beta 3 and the Developer Preview 8 today. People have been raving on about Apple and the iPhone 6, 6 Plus and Apple Watch lately, and with the new iOS 8 coming up, OS X Yosemite comes as yet another successful attempt to stay in the headlines. Apple has been ostracized lately for the iCloud breach and for putting the U2 album into users’ inboxes without their consent. On the other hand, Apple Pay seems to be an appreciated mobile payment platform, bringing Apple 15 cents per every $100 transaction.
People who already have the OS X Yosemite Public Beta 2 installed should only go to the Mac App Store and check for updates, and they should be able to find the OS X Yosemite Public Beta 3 there. The public beta program of OS X Yosemite began in July, with the second beta released in August. The Developer Preview of OS X Yosemite is available for download at the Apple Developer Center. The seventh Developer Preview of Yosemite was released just two weeks ago.
The benefits of the upcoming OS X Yosemite include a more comprehensive integration among devices including the Mac, iPhone, iPad and hopefully, the Apple Watch as well. A redesigned interface and lots of new applications should be expected from Apple’s new OS, bringing a Today view to the Notification Center and allows for widgets to be added. Spotlight also has a redesigned interface and more functionality built-in, being able to sync with the likes of Wikipedia and Bing.
OS X Yosemite is expected to be released sometime this Fall, but no exact date has been given by the company. October might be a busy month for Apple, with a rumored iPad release coming up and OS X Yosemite has been pegged for the same month, although we don’t have a confirmation on that. Apple has declared that it has products in development we don’t even know about out, so we’re excited to hear more about what Apple has in mind for us.
