Hideo Kojima stresses the importance of 60 FPS
Innovative Metal Gear Solid creator, Hideo Kojima said on his Twitter account that he and his development team are “obsessed with 60 FPS.” Known as a true perfectionist when it comes to FPS (frames per second) rate, and detail quality, he aims very high in his future projects. Here is what Kojima posted in his thread: “Seeking for reality in video world, the next of 3D is “Frame-rate”. Not only resolution. Just as Douglas Trumbull introduced “Showscan” which only Cameron understands. Only that point, game industry is moving ahead. That’s why we are so much obsessed with 60FPS.” In his words, frame rate is crucial to obtaining the highest level of performance possible, as crucial as the resolution factor in 3D gaming.
Utilizing the revolutionary Fox Engine, Kojima Productions’ cross-generational game engine in their Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, they managed to deliver 60 frames per second on current generation consoles. Not only that, but the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is said to be firing as well with 60 FPS on 1080 p HD resolution on Playstation 4 systems. Kojima has always been bringing state of the art graphics in his Metal Gear Solid series, getting his inspiration from Hollywood culture and movies. The gaming world is surely filled with anticipation for Kojima’s next Metal Gear Solid, especially after showing he is very actively engaged in delivering the best game for the fans of the franchise.
In the meantime, Kojima Productions is preparing for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show in which they will hopefully reveal more on their Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game is scheduled to drop on PS3, PS4, Xbox and Xbox One, but has no release date just yet.
