Assassin’s Creed: Unity gets a new trailer which details player customization and co-op

A new Assassin’s Creed: Unity trailer was released today, detailing the character upgrade system and the co-op mode. The trailer is narrated by creative director Alex Amancio. He states that Ubisoft complied with the fans’ wishes for the series by integrating deep customization and co-op in Unity, since these were the most requested features for this game.

In Assassin’s Creed: Unity you can customize your character and take it online to to play co-op with friends. According to Amancio, the co-op missions are focusing on real events that happened during the French Revolution. In order to succesfully beat the game, you will be able to customize your Assassin based on his core set of skills. Just like in a RPG game, you can use talent and experience points to upgrade your skills.

There are four classes in Assassin’s Creed: Unity, so you can play the game in the manner that suits you best. First of all, you can choose to upgrade your stealth speciality, which enhances your capabilities of moving around undetected. If you don’t like being stealthy, you can assign skills to the melee speciality, so that you will be able to launch attacks that deal high damage. The next class is range, which upgrades your parkour skills and the killing from above ability. Last but not least, there is the health speciality, which, if chose, enables players to withstand more attacks from enemies before dying. You also have to choose your weapons based on these classes or specialities.

As for the co-op, Amancio re-stated the fact that in Assassin’s Creed: Unity you will be able to engage in 2 to 4 player co-operative missions. The missions are related to the Brotherhood and take place during key events of the French Revolution. Each member of the team plays a complementary role thanks to the beforementioned deep customization. With the new skills you acquire, you can specialize and share your advantages with the other players. Amancio states that you can attempt to do the co-op missions on your own, but you’ll have a hard time passing them without any help.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be released on November 11 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is the first entry in the AC franchise that is released exclusively for next generation consoles.

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
