Quan Chi revealed for Mortal Kombat X

Quan Chi, the evil sorcerer who has the power to manipulate the minds of his enemies, will be one of the playable characters in Mortal Kombat X.

NetherRealm Studios, the developer behind the Mortal Kombat series, introduced the character through a teaser trailer that showcases his abilities. According to the developer, Quan Chi will play a major role in the story of Mortal Kombat X. In the new installment, he managed to fulfill his schemes and build a Revenant army from fallen warriors. He is using the army to fight on his behalf. In the video, Quan Chi is fighting against another evil character from the series, Kano. NetherRealm teases that the two characters might have to put aside their differences and work together for a common goal in Mortal Kombat X.

Quan Chi can use a variety of spells, that can enhance his special moves, allowing him to cause more damage. The other kinds of spells he is able to perform can weaken his opponent. The sorcerer can use his Warlock variation to open portals that, together with his attacks and special abilities, can be used to create unpredictable combos. Also, Quan Chi can use his Summon variation to conjure demonic beings from the other dimension to fight by his side. In the Mortal Kombat X video, we are also shown some of Quan Chi’s fatalities, like using his mind control ability to have the opponent walk into his blade.

Mortal Kombat X will be released on April 14, 2015, on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. The game is built using Unreal Engine 3. It is developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. According to the developer, Mortal Kombat X will feature an original non-linear story, bringing together prolific characters such as Scorpion and Sub-Zero and new characters. Since the story shifts 25 years after the events from the previous game, you will also be able to play as future generations of fighters, such as Cassie Cage, the daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. It was also revealed that fan-favorite character Goro will be available exclusively for those who pre-order the game.

About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
