Battlefield 4: Premium Edition release date announced

EA Games announced that Battlefield 4: Premium Edition will be released later this month. More specifically, on October 21st on PC (through Origin) and on October 24th on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You will be able to purchase Battlefield 4: Premium Edition for $59.99.

Battlefield 4: Premium Edition will contain the original game, five expansion packs (out of which one is not yet released) and Battlefield 4 Premium membership. The expansion packs included are: Second Assault, China Rising, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and the upcoming Final Stand. Other features that users will be able to enjoy in Battlefield 4: Premium Edition include exclusive personalization options (camos, paints, emblems, dog tags), priority in server queues and twelve bonus Battlefield 3 Gold Battlepacks.

The Final Stand Battlefield 4 expansion pack is set in Russia and contains four maps which send players in wintery landscapes. The combat in this expansion is mostly infantry-focused. The Final Stand will include several futuristic weapons, such as a hovertank prototype, a rail gun and a mech. This expansion pack is set for an Autumn 2014 release, so you can expect it soon.

The next game in the Battlefield series, titled Battlefield Hardline, will feature a cops versus bandits theme rather than the usual military setting we are used with. It will be released early next year, probably around March 31st, 2015, on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. While the game is released as a standalone project and you have to pay full price on it, this is not Battlefield 5. There aren’t any news yet regarding the next numbered title in the series yet. In fact, the aren’t any news about the future of the series beyond Hardline at all. Of course, most BF fans would like the return of the Bad Company series, but EA has not hinted that they are planning to go in that direction.

About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
