Hatred – a horror title pushing the boundaries of mass murder

Independent developer Destructive Creations has just revealed its first title – Hatred. Hatred is portrayed as an isometric shooter featuring a pretty-disturbing atmosphere in which players take the role of a nameless cold-blooded antagonist hell-bent on killing everyone on the planet; at least until he dies, which is apparently what he wants. Hatred takes place on the outskirts of New York State, where gamers will fight law-enforcements, gather equipment from the “human shields”, after which further delve into the antagonist’s hateful mind (i.e. kill more people).

“The question you may ask is: why do they do this? These days, when a lot of games are heading to be polite, colorful, politically correct and trying to be some kind of higher art, rather than just an entertainment – we wanted to create something against trends”, says Destructive Creations. “Something different, something that could give the player a pure, gaming pleasure. Here comes our game, which takes no prisoners and makes no excuses. We say ‘yes, it is a game about killing people’ and the only reason of the antagonist doing that sick stuff is his deep-rooted hatred. Player has to ask himself what can push any human being to mass-murder”.

“We provoke this question – ‘why do they do this?’ – using new Unreal Engine 4, pushing its physics (or rather PhysX) systems to the limits and trying to make the visuals as good as possible. It’s not a simple task, because of the game’s non-linear structure and a lot of characters on the screen. But here at Destructive Creations, we are an experienced team and we know how to handle the challenge!”

If you want to get a sample of just how crazy our antagonist is, just read his “manifesto” – “My name is not important. What is important is what I’m going to do. I just fu*kin’ hate this world. And the human worms feasting on its corpus. My whole life is just cold, bitter hatred. And I always wanted to die violently. This is the time of vengeance and no life is worth saving. And I will put in the grave as many as I can. It’s time for me to kill. And it’s time for me to die. My genocide crusade begins here”.

Hatred is scheduled for a Q2 2015 release, exclusively on the PC.

About Egon Kilin

I’m Load The Game’s co-founder and community manager, and whenever I’m not answering questions on social media platforms, I spend my time digging up the latest news and rumors and writing them up. That’s not to say I’m all work and no fun, not at all. If my spare time allows it, I like to engage in some good old fashioned online carnage. If it’s an MMO with swords and lots of PvP, I’m most likely in it. Oh, and if you’re looking to pick a fight in Tekken or Mortal Kombat, I’ll be more than happy to assist!
