Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the highly anticipated pack which brings the series’ classics to Xbox One, is now available for pre-order and pre-download on Xbox Live, according to Microsoft.
Through The Master Chief Collection, for only $59.99, you will get four past Halo games, the Halo: Nightfall miniseries and the Multiplayer Beta for Halo 5: Guardians. The Halo games included in the pack are remastered versions of the original Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, both released as Anniversary editions, as well as Halo 3 and Halo 4, ported to the Xbox One.
According to the information released so far, Halo 2: Anniversary, which commemorates 10 years from when the game came out, was completely remastered with HD graphics and 60fps gameplay. Furthermore, Microsoft announces that the game will contain nearly one hour’s worth of new cinematics. Those who prefer the nostalgic value of the original, can switch between the remastered and the classic versions of the game.
Apart from the videogames, The Master Chief Collection also contains the Halo: Nightfall miniseries produced by Ridley Scott. The show debuts at the same time with the release of this pack, and those who purchase it will have the privilege of watching the five episodes before everyone else. According to Microsoft, Halo: Nightfall tells the backstory of Agent Locke, one of the main characters from the ucoming Halo 5: Guardians.
Last, but not least, if you purchase The Master Chief Collection, you will be able to take part in the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta. This means that you will be able to experience the game’s multiplayer maps before anyone else, during an exclusive three-week period, from December 29, 2014 to January 18, 2015. Long story short, if you own the upcoming Halo pack, you also get to spend the New Year playing the multiplayer beta of the next installment in the franchise.
