NHL 15 Content Update 3 introduces Online Team Play and more

According to EA Sports, the third Content Update for NHL 15 can now be downloaded on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The update includes several new features that fans of EA’s hockey franchise fans will surely be happy to discover.

First of all, Content Update 3 brings Online Team Play to the game. This mode allows you to play 5v5 matches with up to ten players, each of them locked to a single position. The goalies, however, will be AI controlled. Another novelty brought to the game through Content Update 3 is the Be A General Manager mode Rookie Draft feature. This puts you, for the first time in NHL franchise, in the shoes of a hockey team manager. You will be put on the clock and will have three minutes to make a draft pick. You can also request a timeout so you can extend the before mentioned time limit or to negotiate a potential trade.

Among the other features included in Content Update 3, several teams got new uniforms. Clubs such as the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Tampa Bay Lightining and more (you can find the whole list on the official site), received their third jersey pack.

Apart from the new stuff, Content Update 3 also improves or fixes several issues. At Gameplay level, EA improved the penalty logic for goalie interference calls and tuned the Pass Assist sliders and now they have the desired effect, depending on the user setting. Several issues were fixed, including the one where the strategy overlay shows up when the User Strategy Adjustment slider is turned up. Hockey Ultimate Team also got some problems addressed by Content Update 3. The include the crashes that occur when sending an item that you won through auction to your Collection and the hang during matchmaking search in Versus.

NHL 15 came out on September 9, 2014, on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game was developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports. So far, Content Update 3 is only available on the next-gen consoles and can be, as stated above, downloaded from the respective stores. About Crisan Mircea

I'm a journalism graduate and an occasional gamer. As a kid I used to own a NES clone called "Terminator 2", which was hugely popular in my country. I like old school games and adventure games but I occasionaly play RPG's and Shooters as well, though I wouldn't call myself an expert at these kinds of games. When I'm not writing or playing games I prefer reading detective or fantasy novels.
