Oppo N3 announced along with the Oppo R5, the world’s thinnest smartphone

Oppo announced two very interesting smartphones at a press event held in Singapore earlier today. First off, we have the long awaited Oppo N3 flagship which comes equipped with the company’s already signature swiveling camera. The snapper measures 1/2.3″ and features a 16 MP sensor capable of rotating at 206 degrees much like its predecessor, the Oppo N1. Aside from the great camera, the Oppo N3 also sports other great specs, although certainly not some of the best on the market. The device comes equipped with a large 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 resolution and 403 pixel density. Hardware-wise, we’re looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with quad-core Krait 4oo processor running at 2.3 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. The Oppo N3 also packs a pretty large 3,000 mAh battery, 32 GB storage with microSD support (up to 128 GB) and comes with dual SIM capabilities.

Soon after it was done presenting the Oppo N3, the company went to unveil the Oppo R5 smartphone. Oppo is calling this the world’s thinnest smartphone and at only 4.85 mm thickness we have to agree that they are not exaggerating. Its specs are pretty decent all things considered, but owners of this phone will mostly brag about its thin body and less so about its performance. The Oppo R5 comes with a 1080p resolution 5.2-inch panel just like the Oppo N3. Under the hood you’re going to find a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor @ 1.5 GHz paired with an Adreno 405 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. Some other specs include: 13 MP primary camera along with 5 MP front-facing shooter, 2,000 mAh battery and 16 GB of non-expandable internal storage memory.

Both the Oppo R5 and the Oppo N3 will come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat on board and there is no news on when of if they will upgrade to a more recent version. The Oppo N3 will go on sale later this year for the price of $650 while the Oppo R5 doesn’t have a release date yet, but its price will be $500.
