Chloe Grace Moretz May Play Ellie In The Last Of Us

The Last of Us is one of those very few games that actually manages to feel like the player is actually playing his or her way through a movie, so it’s no surprise that the game is actually being adapted into one. Past reports have already confirmed that Neil Druckmann will be penning the script and taking the director’s chair, but new reports have suggested which actors are being eyed for the roles of the two leads.

According to some reports – Hugh Jackman and Chloe Grace Moretz may be being eyed for the two lead roles, with Ellen Page and Maisie Williams reportedly in talks for the role of Ellie. Aside from Hugh Jackman, Dylan McDermott and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are also front runners for the role of Joel. Originally, people had speculation on Gerard Butler and Ellen Page being cast in the roles, due to both having physical similarities to the in-game protagonists.

The Last Of Us is a post-apocalyptic game which follows Joel and Ellie as they try to navigate through the world after an infection breaks loose which causes human hosts to turn into cannibalistic ravagers. The player controls Joel, starting from when the outbreak first occurs, and he and his daughter Sarah try to escape the carnage. The Last of Us was originally released on June 14, 2013, but has since received several DLC packages, a number of special editions and a remastered edition, which was released earlier this year.

Naughty Dog, the developers of The Last of Us, are reportedly interested in making a sequel to the game, however, they are said to be still trying to come up with a story worth telling, according to Neil Druckmann. With this talk to a potential sequel to the game, then there may indeed be a sequel to the film somewhere down the line, should the first film be a success.
