Escape Dead Island gets new screens, launch trailer

Developer Fatshark and publisher Deep Silver have released a few new screenshots and a launch trailer for their upcoming third-person spin-off, Escape Dead Island. Said screens depict the game’s protagonist about to smash a zombie’s head – which, by the way, looks kind of comic with its white eyes and surprisingly-innocent face – two sidekicks, in addition to sneaking around in what appears to be a laboratory.

Escape Dead Island is an adventure survival horror developed by Swedish developer Fatshark and published by German studio Deep Silver. This is the first Dead island game in the series that is a spin-off, as the game does not take place in the series’ main canon. On August 27th, 2014, Deep Silver had revealed access to a beta version of Dead Island 2, the third main entries of the series, will be available for those who pre-order Escape Dead Island on any of its platforms.

Escape Dead Island is a Survival-Mystery game set on the enigmatic island of Narapela after the events of the zombie outbreak of the original Dead Island. The story lets players unravel the origins of the zombie virus through the eyes of the would-be documentary journalist Cliff Calo. There are no superpowers to keep Cliff alive, just a few makeshift weapons against hordes of infected zombies. It will be integral to choosing wisely between stealth and combat at certain moments in the game. Cliff Calo, son of wealthy media mogul Tom Calo, led a care-free life with little regard for the family business.

However, when his father decides to hand over the company to his younger sister Heather, Cliff feels insulted and excluded. Knowing that his father desperately seeks an insight on the unexplained events on Banoi for his broadcasting channels, Cliff and his friends set sail to land the story that will prove his worth. Escape Dead Island is a single-player-only title, and launches on November 18th, on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
