Rumor Details Grand Theft Auto V’s Online Heists

Grand Theft Auto Online has been running for over a year now but is still missing a big feature, online heists. These heists were promised from the start as big cooperative missions to tackle with friends or random players and also made up a big part of the single player game. The online heists have always been promised to be “coming” but have never been given a specific date or timeframe for when exactly they would arrive. Rockstar confirmed there will be a title update for PS4 and Xbox One, essentially a day one patch, but will not include online heists. Instead they stated, “And get ready for continuing free content Updates for Grand Theft Auto Online, including the highly-anticipated launch of online heists.”

However, some information on what the heists will be has leaked via Youtube user iCrazyTeddy, who has previously leaked accurate Grand Theft Auto V content. He reports that these online heists will require GTA cash, the ingame currency for GTA Online. The heists are called “Prison Break,” “Humane Labs Raid,” and, “Pacific Standard Job.” There are assigned leaders to each online heist who allegedly can determine the amount of money participants receive based on performance or the leader’s whim. None of this has been confirmed by Rockstar and should be considered a rumor for now.

Over on the European PlayStation Blog, Rockstar has given details on how it will be taking advantage of Sony’s hardware, specifically the Dualshock 4. The touchpad on the Dualshock 4 can be used to switch between camera perspectives, weapons, radio stations and throw grenades. The small speaker on the Dualshock 4 will also be utilized to deliver audio of police chatter and phone calls from friends. The light bar will change between colors based on what character you are currently playing as and if you are being chased by LSPD forces.

Rockstar will be releasing Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18 and the PC version in early 2015. The game will come with many enhanced features and additional content for new and returning players to enjoy.
