Quantum Break characters are being voiced by famous X-Men and Lord of the Rings actors

Developer Remedy Entertainment announced that two major Hollywood actors will star in the upcoming Xbox One exclusive title Quantum Break. Well, maybe announced is not the right word here as the developer merely teased the big news. The actors in question are Dominic Monaghan and Shawn Ashmore, but you might know them better as Merry from Lord of the Rings and Iceman from the X-Men films. Monaghan is also familiar with the X-Men franchise as he stared in one of the movies as well, namely X-Men: Origins: Wolverine where the played Chris Bradley, more commonly known as Bolt. However, most people likely know the actor from the hit TV series Lost where he played the role of Charlie Pace.

As for Ashmore, he is arguably best known for his portrayal of Iceman, but he also appeared in several TV series over the years including: The Outer Limits, Smallville, Fringe and The Following. Both Monaghan and Ashmore are currently recording their voices and doing motion capture for Quantum Break. Remedy didn’t reveal any further details, so we don’t know who the actors will portray in the game. However, seeing as how these are a couple of pretty big actors, we can only imagine that they will have an important part to play in Quantum Break.

Quantum Break will also have a TV series that ties in with the game, so presumably the two actors will star in this series as well. We’re not entirely sure about how it will work yet, but Remedy says that what happens in the game will have an effect on the series and what happens in the series will have an effect on the game. The idea definitely sounds interesting so let’s hope that Remedy will shed some more light on the matter soon. Quantum Break doesn’t have an official release date just yet but the developer says that we can expect to see it sometime during Q2 or Q3 of 2015.
