Telltale’s Game of Thrones Release Dates Announced

Telltale’s Game of Thrones video game adaption of the George R.R. Martin saga now has official release dates. Happy Thanksgiving indeed!

Today Telltale tweeted the release dates for the highly anticipated game giving gamers and Game of Thrones fans across the world something else to be thankful for. The first episode of the Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, entitled “Iron From Ice” will be rolled out over a series of dates. While the Android December release dates still have yet to be announced, Telltale has confirmed the following:

  • December 2nd on Windows PC, Mac and PlayStation 4 (PS 4 North America only)
  • December 3rd on XBox One, XBox 360 and PlayStation 4 (PS 4 Europe)
  • December 4th on iOS
  • December 9th on PlayStation 3 North America and Europe

The cat was let out of Telltale’s bag earlier this week when a December 2014 release date was seen on Steam’s listing for the first episode of the Game of Thrones series, “Iron From Ice.” When asked to comment, Telltale had said “We’re anticipating an early December premiere for the first episode of Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series. Standby @telltalegames on twitter for an announcement expected very soon.”

Thankfully, Telltale didn’t keep fans waiting too long for word on the much anticipated game. Fans and gamers alike are excited to dig into the first episode of a six episode story arc for the Game of Thrones video game which promises to be just as engrossing as the novels and HBO series. “Iron From Ice” gets its name from the House words of the House of Forrester, the family from the North of Westeros whom the game is centered around.

While playing as five characters from the House of Forrester, you will get to spend some quality time with your favorite characters from the Game of Thrones universe. In fact, cast members from the HBO show have participated in the game meaning that you’ll get to hear the sneers and jeers from Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rehon) while you try to survive “Iron From Ice.”
