Final Fantasy Type-0 HD “The World at War” Trailer Released
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is the upcoming remake of the original PSP title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Recently a new trailer was released for the game, giving gamers a glimpse at what to expect for the upcoming title.
Entitled “The World at War,” the trailer shows some of the conflict going on in the world of Final Fantasy Type-0. The video description reads: “A turbulent war of nations threatens to tear the land apart. Fueled with propaganda, this show of power from the Militesi ruling incumbent, Marshal Cid, attempts to justify the Empire’s actions and discredit Class Zero, Rubrum and the other states.”
Originally developed for the PSP, Final Fantasy Type-0 has never left Japan. The game is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis sub series, along with Final Fantasy XIII (and its sequels) and Final Fantasy XV. While the games inhabit different worlds, they follow a common mythos surrounding important crystals tied to deities. The game follows Class Zero, a group of students from the Vermillion Peristylium, a magical academy in the Dominion of Rubrum. One day, the Militesi Empire launches attacks on surrounding countries. When they attack Rubrum, Class Zero is called into action, and become entangled in pushing Militesi back, the secret behind the war and the existence of crystals.
The game play in Type-0 is reminiscent of Crisis Core: Fantasy Fantasy VII. The game uses a real-time action-based battle system. Players control three characters, and are able to swap between them at any time. Each character has a specific weapon, and can perform special attacks unique to them.
Final Fantasy Type-0 releases March 17, 2015 in North America. The game reaches Europe on March 20th. The remake will be available for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Those who preorder Final Fantasy Type-0 will also receive the demo to Final Fantasy XV dubbed “Episode Duscae.”
