LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA rolling out across Europe
The LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA started its initial rollout earlier, but the OTA was restricted to devices in Poland, with no word on when the international rollout would begin. LG G3 owners can now rejoice, since the rollout of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has begun and is hitting international LG G3 models in Europe. Users of the international D855 LG G3 are now receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA.
LG G3 owners in Italy, Matla, the U.K, Slovenia, Portugal and many other countries are now reporting that their devices are receiving the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA as we speak. The LG G3 is among the first non- Google Play Edition devices to receive the Lollipop treatment, and we’re glad to see that a few days after Polish LG G3 units got their Lollipop OTA, the update is rolling out across the continent. We’ve found that many users are resilient in installing the new OTA, because of all the bad bugs some early adopters have been reporting, and would rather wait for Android 5.0.1 Lollipop to be released for the LG G3.
Those who already have the LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA installed are reporting improved battery life and internet speed, but decreased processing power and laggy UI. While we are aware that Android 5.0 Lollipop has its issues and bugs, we do hope Google will be sending out an update soon so that LG G3 owners can enjoy the treatment in full. The HTC One M8 and One M7 should also be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA in the first few days of January. Even though Nexus and Google Play Edition devices have already received Android 5.0 Lollipop and even Android 5.0.1, the LG G3 is finally getting the Material Design treatment so that everybody interested in the buggy, but awesome new mobile OS can test it out.
