In Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, players play as a nameless protagonist who gets curious after hearing rumors of hackers in the streets. One day the protagonist receives a device named “Digimon Capture” from someone they met online. They then go to the lowest layer of Cyberspace to gauge the rumor. However, there is a sudden malfunction in the system, and part of their mental data is corrupted. This results in the protagonist’s body becoming a half-digitized Data Body. The protagonist then awakens with the ability Connect Jump, which allows them between our world and the cyber world through terminals.

In Cyber Sleuth, there will be a Coliseum where players can battle with each other via network play. There will also be user rankings. In Cyber Sleuth, Digimon may “Digivolve” when they get strong enough. As their levels and skill points increase from battle, they can Digivolve into a variety of other Digimon. Digivolution can be obtained in special ways aside from just leveling up. These rare Digivolutions can be accessed from repeated Digivolving, de-Digivolving to break through level caps, and other methods. Sometimes a special item is required for a special Digivolution.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth will release in Japan on March 12th. The game will be available for the PS Vita. There is no word on if and when the game will be coming to North America.
