HTC promises to “blow you away” this year with “huge surprises”

CES 2015 is just around the corner and it looks like Taiwanese manufacturer HTC is preparing some sort of big announcement for the event. Moreover, the company even says that it has a number of big surprises in store this year that will “blow you away.” Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC recently teased us on Twitter by saying that their 2015 roadmap will be their “best one ever” and that he is “overwhelmingly excited” for it. It’s not exactly surprising to see someone in his position trying to hype things up before the event as that’s his job at the end of the day. However, the lack of any specific details makes us wonder about what exactly the company is planing for CES 2015 and the rest of the year.

While Gordon didn’t want to reveal any of the “huge surprises” awaiting us further along the line, there are plenty of rumors out there speculating on what we can expect to see. By now it’s pretty much common knowledge that the company is working on a successor to the HTC One M8 flagship smartphone. The HTC One M9, also known as HTC Hima has leaked several times already and looks ready to be officially announced soon if the rumors are to be believed. However, word has it that the device will only be unveiled in March at one of the major tech events, so we might not hear anything about it at the CES 2015. In any case, this handset doesn’t really fall into the category of big surprises seeing as how everybody knows about it.

Another announcement might be related to a new tablet, which is already in the works according to various media outlets. The HTC Nexus 9 proved to be a big success so it doesn’t seem too far fetched to think that yet another slate could be announced at some point this year. Although we’re probably not going to hear anything about the HTC One M9 at the upcoming event, the tablet may very well be unveiled there, but this is obviously just speculation for now. In any case, we’re dying to learn more about the company’s plans and we’ll make sure to share with you any new details, so stay tuned.
