Candy Crush Saga invites on Facebook and how to block them

If you’ve been on Facebook for a while chances are that you already received plenty of invites to play browser games like Candy Crush Saga, Pet Rescue Saga, Farmvile, Criminal Case, Angry Birds, and others like them. If you don’t usually play games like that, those notifications tend to get very annoying, very fast. I’m speaking from experience here as I was receiving a truck-load of invites for said games on a daily basis. More recently though, I looked up ways of blocking these notifications and decided that the only humane thing to do was to share this information with you guys as well. It’s worth mentioning that you can actually block any app from bothering you on Facebook, not just Candy Crush Saga, Farmville and the likes.

Now, there are two ways of doing this and I’m going to talk a little bit about both of them here. First off, you can go to the Settings menu by clicking the little arrow found to the right of the Notifications and Privacy Shortcuts tabs. Once you’re there, select the Blocking tab, which should be found under the Timeline and Tagging tab. You’ll notice several options there, including one called “Block apps” that does exactly what it says. Simply write Candy Crush Saga, Pet Rescue Saga or any number of other games in the box and you can be certain that you won’t receive any other notifications related to that game from now on.

The Blocking menu also includes an option that allows you to block invites coming from certain Facebook friends. This is useful if you play Candy Crush Saga yourself, but don’t want to see invites from other people. This option goes by the name of “Block app invites” and it also ensures that you won’t receive notifications for any other games from these people. Simply write the name of the nagging friend in the provided box and you’re good to go. As a side note, this menu also allows you to block users altogether, block Facebook pages, block event notifications, and edit your Restricted list.

If for some reason you don’t like this method of blocking Candy Crush Saga invites, don’t worry because there’s one more method and it’s equally efficient. Moreover, you may actually find it more useful in certain situations. Here’s how you do it. While you’re on the Home page of Facebook, look for the Apps tab located on the left side of the screen(you may have to scroll down a bit until you find it). When you see it, click on the Games category and it will direct you to a page that features all the Facebook games you know and love (or hate) along with many others. Exquisite browser titles like Pet Rescue Saga, Angry Birds Friends, Farm Heroes Saga, and of course, Candy Crush Saga can all be found here. This page is useful both for looking up specific games to play and for making sure that notifications related to these games will never bother you again.

Here's how to block Facebook games notifications

You can click on any number of games there and select “Block” from the following pop-up to block the game, along with any future invites. Once you hit block another pop-up asking for confirmation will show up. Just select “Confirm” and you’re all set. If you’re looking to block Candy Crush Saga invites or other specific games you may want to look around a bit until you find them among the plethora of other titles. The “Top Charts” next to the “Home” tab will help you with this as you’re likely bothered by invitations for some of the most popular Facebook games. Alternatively, you can go to the “Activity” tab where all your current invitations and requests can be found. After you hit the “X” button next to one of the notifications, a menu with some additional options will appear. Once it does, you have the option of either blocking that game altogether or ignoring all future requests coming from a certain person.
