Walmart is taking preorders for Kingdom Hearts 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, and Final Fantasy XV.

Walmart has now started taking preorders for some of 2015’s most anticipated games for Playstation 4 and Xbox One including Kingdom Hearts 3, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Final Fantasy XV, which all seem to be receiving a third quarter 2015 release date. Walmart is attaching an October 31st release date for these games and although they may actually release within a few weeks of that date, they are still coming in 2015. Not only is Walmart taking preorders for these games, but they are also taking some of them for a significantly reduced price compared to other retail outlets. Right now, Metal Gear Solid 5 and Kingdom Hearts 3 are currently listed for $40.88 and Final Fantasy XV is listed at the expected price of $59.99.

This isn’t the first time that Walmart has revealed released dates because of preorders on their website. Last Year Bayonetta 2 was attached with an October 31st 2014 release date before e3, and the game launched on October 24th of that year. It’s really no coincidence as these stores need to not only make the retail space available so their products can sell, but they also have to gain consumers by having the advantage over their competitors that would potentially get the sale with a release date.

I wouldn’t be too keen on the $40.88 price that Walmart currently has these games listed for, mainly because they have had trouble with mispricing items in the past. In 2013, Walmart resolved an issue with their website where many items were being sold for far less than the value of what they were worth. For instance, $600 computer monitors were being sold for $9 and it led to a long run of outraged consumers’ orders being canceled because of the pricing error on the company’s part.

It must be said that these release dates are speculation for now and that they must be taken with a grain of salt. However, if these dates hold any ground, then 2015 is shaping up to be one great year to be a gamer.

Hi I'm Daniel and I'm an aspiring writer, avid gamer, and wanna-be cook; I'm not quite certain in which order. I like all things RPG and if that means swords n' spells, all the better. But, provided it has a good story I'll probably want to try it regardless of what it is. I'm a Windows junkie, and I spend my time gaming on Xbox, PC, and my 2DS.
