Bandai Namco Trademarks Could Hint to Western Localizations

Recently, Bandai Namco filed trademarks for “Long Song” and “Lost Reavers” in both the United States and Europe as well as “Eyes of Heaven” and “Cinderella Girls” in Europe only. Reported by Gematsu, these trademarks are the most compelling proof yet that Western localizations are coming for a variety of anticipated games currently only scheduled for release in Japan and Asia by the company.

“Lost Song” refers to the upcoming PS3 and PS Vita game Sword Art Online: Lost Song. The game had already been confirmed for an English translation in the Asian market, so the announcement of a Western release seems like only a matter of time at this point. The game is slotted for release in Japan on March 26, 2015.

The previous game for PS Vita Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment was also released in North America and Europe in 2014, but the English version was poorly translated. Producer Yosuke Futami has promised an improved localization, but the game managed to hit the #1 best seller in North America for PS Vita last year even without it. A good English translation for Lost Song would most likely perform even better.

Meanwhile, “Eyes of Heaven” is the subtitle for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven for PS4 and PS3. It has not yet been given any release date. “Cinderella Girls” is the subtitle for smartphone game The [email protected]: Cinderella Girls that came out in 2011 as well as for the current anime season of the same franchise. As for “Lost Reavers,” it’s still a mystery what that is supposed to be attached to. None of these games have yet been given an official North American or European release announcement, but hopefully they are soon to come. Bandai Namco’s momentum from Western localization of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 and other games looks like it will continue with these new products.
