Surgeon Simulator Sells 2 Million Copies

According to a press release from Bossa Studios on Game Press, their incredibly popular game Surgeon Simulator has sold over 2 million copies to date. To celebrate, Surgeon Simulator will be on sale for 75% off on Steam for the next 24 hours and will be reduced to half price for the rest of the week. The iOS version of the game can also be bought for half the original price. Henrique Olifiers, co-founder of Bossa Studios, stated that “It has been really amazing to see this title go from a game jam project to a full release across multiple formats and is testament to the originality and creativity we nurture here at Bossa Studios.”

Surgeon Simulator took sites like Youtube and Twitch by storm back in 2013 with its comically awkward controls and exaggerated blood and gore. Some of the simulated operations include heart, brain, and teeth transplants on patients that aren’t always human. Players assume the role of Nigel Burke, who is described as “a would-be surgeon taking life into his own shaky hands, performing life-saving surgical maneuvers on passive patients.” The “darkly humorous over-the-top operation sim” has gained a lot of traction since its initial release in 2013, and has then since brought attention to some of Bossa Studios’ more recent projects such as I Am Bread, a game in which a player simulates a day in the life of a slice of bread.

For those with an unsatisfied itch to perform a simulated double kidney transplant or replace a heart by removing the entire contents of the human body, Bossa Studios’ Surgeon Simulator can be picked up for the PC, PS4, and iOS. Get Surgeon Simulator now before time runs out on Steam’s 75% off sale or the 50% of sale on iOS.
