Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Devs to hold College Lectures
As a result of a partnership with Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Plano, Texas and University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles Square Enix has announced today that developers Yusuke Naora and Kazuyuki Ikumori will hold a series of university lectures. Naora and Ikumori are members of Square Enix’s Tokyo development team and are currently working on Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. The lectures will see the two developers sharing their personal experiences in the video games and digital entertainment industries. Both developers said they were excited to be given the possibility to meet students and guests and share a moment with them.
The lectures will take place during this spring and will focus on the development phase of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD as well as other prominent Square Enix titles. Yusuke Naora, who is the art director of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, will be discussing the graphic style and visual quality of the Final Fantasy series at SMU’s Guildhall satellite campus on February 26, 2015. Ikumori, general manager of Visual Works, the CG studio owned by Square Enix, will be describing the creative process behind Square Enix’s CG production at the USC campus on March 12, 2015. Fans and students who happen to miss the event will be able to follow it on Square Enix’s twitch page. The team also said that they will use this opportunity to learn from their students’ experiences.
Both universities are recognized as leading institutions and feature an plethora of programs that cover the video game and digital entertainment industry. Students that graduate from these institutions easily find a job within the gaming industry. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is the 8th generation console remake of the original Final Fantasy Type-0 and brings some upgraded features to the title. Although no plot related changes have been made, the game sports upgraded graphics, a new game-play which was adapted to provide better performances on consoles and a lower difficulty setting. Final Fantasy Type 0-HD will be released on March 17 on PlayStation 4 and XBOX one in North America. Final Fantasy Type 0-HD will be sold for $59,99. A limited-availability Collector Edition of the title will be available for $99,99 through the Square Enix online store as long as supplies last.
