Rooster Teeth’s Barbara Dunkelman and Blaine Gibson to go without technology in upcoming documentary, Connected

Like it or not, technology has become integrated into almost every facet of our lives. Phones are one of the first and last things that we see every day, it’s almost impossible to find a building that doesn’t have at least one computer, and everything is connected to the internet at all times. But what if someone were to be deprived of their access to such modern marvels, or better yet, what if someone who’s entire career revolves around technology were to be reduced to a figurative caveman?

Rooster Teeth’s upcoming documentary, Connected, explores such questions by taking away everything that defines the modern age of smartphones and computers from two of their younger and more technologically dependent employees, Barbara Dunkelman and Blaine Gibson. Of course, it would be rather cruel to deprive them of all technology when their jobs are so dependent on it, so a small mercy is granted: they will only be able to use technology that was available when they were born (so in Barbara’s case, anything that existed during the year 1989).

Connected will feature interviews with Nicholas Carr and behavioral psychologists Dr. Art Markman and Dr. Bob Duke as they discuss how our brains change with the use of technology and how we sustain and build relationships in the 21st century.
