Sony plans to release wireless earbuds for the PS5
Sony is gradually expanding the variety of PS5 peripherals that are available, and the usually trustworthy Insider Gaming claims to have the inside track on yet another item: wireless earbuds. The portable AirPod-inspired accessories, which are expected to launch between April 2023 and March 2024, will reportedly have a five-hour battery life and come with a USB charging case like so many of their contemporaries.
The headphones, code-named Project Nomad, are expected to be released around the same time as an updated wireless headset, according to the aforementioned publication. Internally, this is known as Project Voyager. According to reports, the new cans will have functionality comparable to that of the $200 Inzone H7 headset.
According to Insider Gaming, a refreshed product lineup will include these new accessories, the DualSense Edge, and the PSVR2 headset later this year, along with a redesigned PS5 console. For those who haven’t been following the speculation, it’s rumoured that a system with a detachable disc drive will be made available in 2023, streamlining the platform holder’s manufacturing pipeline – and providing customers with more flexibility when picking up the digital-only device.
