First screenshots of the PS4 Dragon Ball Z game revealed
It was announced last week that Namco Bandai is working on a brand new Dragon Ball Z game for Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. The news appeared in the latest issue of V-Jump Magazine which shows well known characters like Goku, Vegeta, Cell, and Frieza. A title for the game was not officially confirmed and the article just mentions that this is the first Dragon Ball project for the PS4.
A teaser website for the game is already available, but as expected details are still very limited at this time. However, the first three screenshots that were uploaded there recently can give us an idea on what the game is about. One of the screenshots shows a Goku vs Vegeta fight scene and features a mysterious character wearing the Capsule Corp emblem. Another image depicts a battle between Goku in Super Sayan form and Frieza in his ultimate form. The scene is reminiscent of the Dragon Ball Z episodes where the two were fighting on planet Namek.
Sources mention that the game might feature time travel via the use of a Hyperbolic Time Chamber. This is a place that appeared in the Dragon Ball Z anime as well. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is located in Kami’s Lookout and is said that “One year inside the chamber is the equivalent to one day on the outside.”
Namco Bandai says this new Dragon Ball Z game will feature “characters with facial expressions never seen before”. They also promise very good graphics quality, the kind that can only be achieved on the PS4. The teaser website says that a trailer will be “coming soon” so we’ll just have to wait and see if the company can keep that promise. A launch date has not been announced yet and for now the game only seems to be in development for the PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360. No news on a possible Xbox One version but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear something so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out the first screenshots below.
