Alien: Isolation survival mode revealed
Creative Assembly teases Alien: Isolation’s survival mode through a brand new trailer. You might wonder, since the game is basically a survival-horror, what makes this mode different? This question is answered in the trailer, but let me summarize it for you before you start watching. The Survivor mode is comprised from a series of standalone challenges, in which time and your skills are essential if you want to go up on the leaderboard.
According to the development team, the idea for Survival came after they started challenging each other to do different things in the game. They realized that people play the game differently: some prefer shooting their way through while others choose a stealthily approach. Therefore, they decided to incorporate all of these ‘challenges’ in the actual game. You compete against the clock, while being hunted. Your final score can be influenced by things such as items that you might get or miss or whether the enemies detected you or not. The time and score that you obtain is sent to the leaderboards, where you can compare them to your friends’ stats and compete against each other.
Alien: Isolation will be released on October 7 on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. It is developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. According to the developers, the game, including the Survival mode, will be supported through DLC’s. There are five DLC packs planned, with the first one set to arrive on October 28.
Earlier this month, the PC system requirements for Alien: Isolation were announced. While console gamers can skip the following paragraph, as they don’t need to bother with these, the others should read on to find out if they will be able to run the game on their systems. So, without any further explanations, here is what you need to have in order to play the game. While a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system is recommended, the game runs on 32-bit systems as well. You will need at least a 3.16 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 processor to play the game, 4 GB of RAM, 35 GB of HDD space for the installation and 1 GB, DirectX 11 video card. Also, you need to be connected to the internet in order to play the game.
