Motorola Droid Turbo rumor round-up
The Motorola Droid Turbo is one of the devices that have been the talk of the town in the past two weeks, with many speculations flying around, some actually saying that the Motorola Droid Turbo might be the new Nexus 6. That rumor has been voided by the newest Nexus 6 leaks which suggest a device similar to the rumored Moto S rather than the Motorola Droid Turbo. The rumored Droid Turbo is the newest phone to be launched in the Motorola Droid line and many are looking forward to see its new charging features and phablet-sized screen.
The latest rumors about the Motorola Droid Turbo state that it will sport a 5.2 inch display with a 2560*1440 resolution and will be powered by a quad core Snapdragon 805 CPU clocked at 2.7 GHz, backed by an Adreno 420 GPU and 3 GB RAM. You will have 32 GB of internal storage available, although we don’t think it’s going to be expandable via a microSD card since rumors say the Motorola Droid Turbo will not have a removable back. The Motorola Droid Turbo will also sport a 19 MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, HDR, face detection and touch focus. The front camera will be just a 2 MP shooter, suggesting that the Droid Turbo will not be made for the selfie-enthusiasts.
The Motorola Droid Turbo sets out to be a powerful device, with an accelerometer, Bluetooth, compass, gyroscope, NFC, proximity sensor and Wi-Fi included. The device will probably be a Verizon exclusive and comes as the successor of last year’s Motorola Droid Maxx. Motorola has recently launched a few very successful devices like the Moto X, Moto G and the Moto 360 and is preparing the Nexus 6 for an presumed October 16th launch, so the company certainly has its hands full.
We haven’t any information on pricing or availability and Motorola hasn’t confirmed the existence of the Motorola Droid Turbo officially, but we suppose that the device will probably hit the shelves before 2014 is up, since we already have a leaked image courtesy of HellomotoHK showing the Motorola Droid Turbo from the back. The Droid Turbo will probably feature some kind of advanced charging capabilities similar to those of the Moto X which can charge for 15 minutes and last another 8 hours. We are curious whether the Motorola Droid Turbo will be a good release on the market, but that will depend on timing as well as the competition, which is pretty fierce at the moment. We will have to wait and see whether Motorola has some information for us about the Motorola Droid Turbo at the Nexus 6 launch event.
