Darksiders 2 is now free for Xbox Live Gold members via the Games with Gold program

The Games with Gold program brings each month a few free titles for Xbox Live Gold members. Earlier this month Xbox 360 owners had the opportunity to try out Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at no cost whatsoever before deciding if they should buy it or not. Starting today, the game is no longer free and has reverted back to the original price, although it made way for something even better. Thanks to the Games with Gold program, Xbox Live Gold members are now able to play Vigil Games’ highly acclaimed hack and slash RPG Darksiders 2. The game is normally priced at $49.99 and with good reason since this is arguably one of the best games of 2012. Darksiders 2 weights in at around 7.15 GB and can be downloaded from here. Below you will find a short description of the game.

“Darksiders 2 follows the exploits of DEATH, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a weaving tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels DEATH through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman who was blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.” Having played it myself, I can wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone looking for a great action RPG with plenty of loot and an interesting story. Darksiders 2 will only stay free for Xbox Live Gold members until the end of the month, but that should give you just enough time to complete it.

Xbox One owners can also benefit from two free titles during the month of October thanks to the Games with Gold program. This month’s free games are Crimson Dragon and Chariot, and both of them will be available until October 31st. The Games with Gold for November have not been revealed yet, but we expect an announcement to be made towards the end of the month. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
