iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 can now be pre-ordered from the Apple Store

Apple made a number of important announcements yesterday during its press event in Cupertino. For the last couple of months we’ve heard rumors saying that the company will announce the iPad Air 2 along with the iPad Mini 3 sometime this Fall. As fate would have it, the rumors were true and Apple did indeed announce the devices yesterday at the said event. Earlier today the company also made both tablets available for pre-order from the Apple Store. The iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 will begin shipping next week so it’s a good idea to make a reservation beforehand in order to ensure that they don’t go out of stock like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus went back when they were announced.

Prices are similar to those of their predecessors at launch and color options include Silver, Gold and Spay Gray for both devices. The iPad Air 2 costs $499 for the 16 GB model, $599 for the 64 GB version and $699 for the 128 GB one. These prices are only for the Wi-Fi version of the tablet, although you can get LTE as well. However, this will cost you an addition $130. As you might imagine, the iPad Mini 3 is a bit cheaper, with the 16 GB model going for $399, the 64 GB variant for $499 and the 128 GB one for $599. Similar to the iPad Mini 2, you will have to pay an extra $130 if you want LTE connectivity.

Pricing for Europe have also been revealed and the devices cost a bit more on the old continent. In the UK, the iPad Air 2 costs £399/£479/£559 depending on the storage while in Germany the device is priced at €489/€589/€689. Meanwhile, the iPad Mini 3 goes for £319/£399/£479 in the UK and €389/€489/€589 in Germany. In the case of both the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 LTE will cost £80 extra in the UK and €120 in Germany.
