PlayStation Experience Details Released

PlayStation Experience is less than two weeks away. To help sate the appetite of those waiting for the event, Sony has released some information on what attendees can expect at the Experience.

Held from December 5th to 6th in Las Vegas, Nevada, the PlayStation Experience is meant to be a convention of all things PlayStation. On the PlayStation Blog, there were some details given on a few of the main events. Some of the main events being held are various tournaments from a number of PlayStation titles. In these tournaments, players are able to compete for real life PlayStation trophies as they compete to show just who is the best. A list of tourneys up for play include:

  • MLB The Show 2014 Homerun Derby
  • The Last of Us Multiplayer Factions Tournament
  • inFamous First Light Battle Arena Tournament
  • Little Big Planet 3 Speed Attack
  • SingStar Sing-off
  • Nidhogg & Towerfall Competitions

Along with the tournaments, attendees of the PlayStation Experience can attend meet-n-greets, where they can meet with developers and community managers from PlayStation Worldwide Studios. There will also be panels to attend, including Q-Games’ Tomorrow Children, Creating the World of Tearaway with Media Molecule, an AMA for Naughty Dog’s new online store, and a deeper look at The Order: 1886.

There will also be community hangouts at the PlayStation Experience, where those attending the event can play new games and chat with others, including developers. On the Saturday night of the event, Ghostly International artists Shigeto and Michna will play remixes of their songs from Hohokum, and will also be there there for a signing. Also, there will be 54 collectible cards scattered around the PlayStation Experience location. The challenge is to collect them all; however, Sony would not disclose where the cards are located.

Aside from all of these activities, there will be demos and previews of upcoming PlayStation titles. Today Square Enix and Capcom both revealed that they will soon be revealing new games in December. There is a chance that those announcements may be done at the PlayStation Experience.
