Inbox by Gmail updated, enhanced support for Android Wear and tablets
Inbox by Gmail is still invite-based, but that doesn’t mean it’s not being taken care of, receiving a new update that adds enhanced support for Android Wear and tablets. If you’ve been lucky enough to get an invite to join Inbox by Gmail or you’ve received a reply to your email sent to Google, you’ll be happy to know that from now on, you can check your Inbox by Gmail straight from your smart watch and better handle the app from your tablet.
Inbox by Gmail aims to help you organize all your emails even better than the simple Gmail app and with the new update, Google proved that it can make good things even better. The Inbox by Gmail update improves the tablet experience with minor user interface modifications as well as performance enhancements, which are always welcome. Reminders within have also been updated, the app being able to give you suggestions so that you can write reminders even faster. When it comes to Android Wear, Inbox by Gmail is now optimized for the wearable platform so that your user experience on a Moto 360 or any other Android Wear device is improved. With the update, you can now view Inbox by Gmail notifications on your smartwatch and actually interact with them. You can now reply to messages, as well as view them and mark them so that you won’t have to meddle with your phone each time you get an email.
If you already have Inbox by Gmail, you will be noticing the update rolling out to you. In case you are still waiting for an Inbox by Gmail invite, once you get it, you will be able to install the update version of the app directly. Don’t panic in case you didn’t receive the update yet, since it’s purportedly a slow rollout, which reminds me of the Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout. We don’t know when Inbox by Gmail will be available without an invite, but we hope by January we’ll have unlimited access to the new application.
