ReCore Reveal Trailer at E3
Xbox announced a new IP at their Xbox E3 conference called ReCore. ReCore’s website states that you will follow the characters of Joule and Mack into the wilderness of Far Eden. The trailer shows six different robots that can be “ReCored” and used as allies; although it’s uncertain at the moment if you can have more than one at a time. The trailer itself only shows the one companion, that can be transferred from robot to robot using the internal blue sphere which I’m guessing is going to be called a Core. Plus, ReCore’s website lists only two names suggesting that there will only be two characters in the game, but then it also alludes to multiple robot companions – we’ll just have to wait and see. The trailer also shows the heroine stealing a core from one of the attacking robots; these evil robots have a red core instead, if the protagonist is collecting them there is perhaps a use for them in game also.
ReCoreĀ is made by Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime, and is set to be an action adventure exclusively for Xbox One. ReCore is promising a world full of exploration with strategic combat for action adventure fans. What we know so far is that:
“As one of the last remaining humans on a planet controlled by robotic foes bent on your destruction, you must forge friendships with a courageous group of robot companions, each with unique abilities and powers. Lead this band of unlikely heroes on an epic adventure through a mysterious, dynamic world.”
The world shown in the trailer is arid and deserted. It looks like something apocalyptic happened to the world, you can see the remnants of buildings or structure dotting the landscape. I am intrigued as to what would be in the bunker that they find at the conclusion of the trailer – beyond the big boss monster.
Among all of Xbox E3 franchise announcements it is great to have a new IP announced among their line up. Will you be keeping an eye on this new title until it comes out next spring? If you haven’t seen it already, take a look at ReCore’s reveal trailer below.
